The baking soda is going to absorb ground water. Condensation will build up on the inside of the pipe also. Your boot will be wet, if not moldy. Keep trieng though new inventions are great. I would say you would need air flow to be outside, Maybe a cap on the bottom and some holes in the pipe, above ground level for ventalation. Good Idea though. Have to keep thinking about them darn bugs.[:'(]
