Your father-in-law is no help? Screw him. Even in-law blood should be thicker than water. His refusal to tell someone un-related to find another spot is worse than a kick in the b@lls if you ask me. If you made your feelings about this clear, and there's still no help, I guess you know where you stand with him.

I guess you need to decide what's important. Personally I would not hunt there if I had to deal with idiots like this. I would find another spot and be done with it. When your father-in-law calls and asks for for help to do this or that, well, you know what my answer would be, "Call your buddy, you know the one that you let hunt in the shadow of my stand." Or the short version, "kiss my @ss."
