i guess from my stand point i see that option like a bow hunter sees carbon vs. aluminum the .117(carbon) is faster, and will allow more of a distance error, do to a flatter trajectory, where as the .22 (aluminum) wont be as fast, but it will hit harder getting more kinetic energy. No with grouse, and rabbit KE isn’t a very big deal, because they are both very (weak) animals. But if it helps, I bow hunt with carbon lol I donno if this has helped you out, but that’s the only way I think I can kind of put it into words for you.
