Default RE: ProActive or ReActive?

Ken,

In our area and at our club is all that I can talk about. We have a theory that at $6.00 for 30 targets the average archer is paying .20 cents to shoot that arrow. In our league we charge $8.00 but the better average is about $6.00. Everyone is trying for the center of the ten ring when they aim and the eleven is a plus. There are other factors that help make up the wear factor. Angle of the target, type of points that are being shot, distance to the target, first arrow placement, etc. but I am sure that you are aware of all the factors. For tournaments we find that the ten ring is the part that is being shot out first on the close targets especially when they are large targets. These are facts that are going to vary depending on the individual shooters and clubs. People practicing on the course during the week cause as much ware as anything. The cost of the target goes up if you use the same targets for tournament and practice.
Overall what I am getting at is that if the targets are getting shot out to quickly too many people are enjoying themselves, people are shooting at times other than during a tournament and using the club for the reason that they join a club or you have lots of outsiders that are taking advantage of a free ride. The worst thing that could happen is that the targets never get shot out because no one shoots, we set the targets so that no one can score well and feel good about their shooting or we build a fat treasury for the people that only shoot once in a while. The clubs should be happy that they are getting enough people to keep things interesting. If money is a problem there are other ways to solve the problem other than restricting the use of the facilities. With some efforts there is a way that you can have your targets sponsored, and I think you and I have talked about that.
Thanks for your time.
