I used to hunt in East Texas in the piney woods. I now hunt in the Texas Hill Country and there is definately a difference in taste. The East Texas deer have a more gamey taste because of thier natural diet. There is much more natural clover and less acorns in the hill country that make the deer have a milder taste.
