I'm shooting 74lbs @65% letoff. Basically I'm only holding 25.9lbs so I'd have to agree with your comment to a point. I guess it depends how "efficient" is defined
When the compound first came out the big selling point was that you could reduce your bow weight and still be more efficient than with the longbows/recurves.
