No we don't. that's why I'm about ask this question. Once a buck, young or old, sheds his rack and a fresh one begins to grow, does it ever stop growing or does it keep on until shed time comes 'round again?
The rack eventually stops growing. But, I've noticed that when he sheds his rack his new one starts coming in right behind it, with the velvet on. I've got a picture of these deer from early Spring, I'll post later today, when I get a chance.
Closest thing I can parallel it with is our teeth. After we loose our baby teeth, there is one right behind it. It stops growing. (But, if you develop velvet on your teeth, that's a whole nuther problem, lol)....
