My personal opinion is that the weather doesn't affect the rut at all. Moose must calf at a certain time of year, to ensure that the calves are strong enough to survive the upcoming winter. In my opinion it's the amount of daylight that triggers the rut, not weather. Just my opinion. For what it's worth I live in north western Ontario & bow hunt moose.
