RE: Trouble with rocket steelheads
I was thinking about switching to Rockets this year, but this post is making me think twice about it. I am a little confused, though. Someone had said they have never had a double lung hit animal go a long way and were attributing that fact to dull broadheads. If the broadhead is sharp enough to put a double lung hit on an animal that is enough to put it down. How far it goes depends on the animal. I have shot a deer that was a double lung hit and grazed the heart and the deer went nearly 400 yards. This wasn't the broadheads' fault, that was just one tough deer. I guess what I'm trying to say is, even with a good shot sometimes an animal is still able to travel far.
