Sorry 5shot,I have to disagree.I thought the new stirrups were more trouble than they are worth.Believe me,I do have some experiance with these stands,the Viper X-4 is my third Viper stand I've owned.
The stirrups got in the way of my size 14's,cut out too much of the platform area for my feet.I did'nt like the loose bungee cord for "securing" your feet in the stirrups.
Also,you know how you have to get a little "kick"(disengage) when your ready to decend,I just felt that the stand was'nt securly attached to my feet.I like the "old" straps and bungee better.
So,I retrofitted the X-4 with the straps and new bungee cords(Home-Depot,better bungee cords)and it works great....Bob
