Another update......

I checked the scrapes Sunday morning after all the heavy rain from Ivan. The first set of two seemed to be untouched, at least from the time the rain had stopped the previous afternoon.

The second set had prints in them from what seemed to be that nice one that had left his prints the few weeks before. The tracks were fresh, probably left from that morning. I made a third, smaller scrape to coincide with the path that he's running, and freshened the two existing scrapes.

On a similar note and as sort of a control, I was out walking with the family last evening at a lesser regarded area and made kind of a unique scrape just for the heck of it.

I found a funnel trail that meanders down into a thicket close to some fields. I went into this thicket from the road (without the family) and found my first buck rub of the year. I decided to make a scrape about six feet from this rub under a neighboring sapling. I dumped in a 1/4 bottle of Tinks 69, half a bottle of black licorice curiosity scent, then I relieved my bladder in the scrape to boot!

It's a bit crazy, but I thought I'd give it a try just to see what happens.............
