I've had the Marlin Guide 1895 for a few years. Surprised me how little recoil it had. The porting works! The trigger is relatively heavy for a sporter, but I did not anticipate anything over 100 yards. It can be replaced if you like. I think some of the forum members have used it on deer & elk. 'hope they report in on it.
