I started doing this about three years ago,partly for the same reason but also the local shop guy was never there and the next nearest shop folks where pretty pompass.I am also a inquisitive person.The question that you asked I asked back then,and the best that I found was a book by Larry Wise or weiss?The book is called silenceing and tuning your bow.I also learned alot from guys like Len in Maryland,and guys from some of the forums.Also PSE,and Apple archery have some good videos.Don't forget though the best is ask questions.It doesn't hurt to be somewhat mechanicly inclined and have machinist type of mantallity either.
