I don't know if it's type 1 or 2(I'm sure you do) , but he's been insulin dependant for about 30 years. He's just gotten a pump though in the last few years. Likes it alot. He's 53 and like I said, been diabetic basically all his life. After starting on the pump the drs had his sugar up and down like crazy, constantly. His pancreas produces absolutely no insulin, so his glucose levels are very touchy. He started on a low carb diet against the drs wishes and his levels evened out and stabilized. After 30 years of uncontrolable diabetes, a couple of close calls with low glucose and high, and a triple bypass later he's actually in pretty good shape. He needs to lose a little wieght and become more active, but otherwise good health.
