ORIGINAL: avid_bowhunter2005 Believe it or not, using slugs in a full choke gun will litterally "shoot" the choke out of the gun. Sure it will shoot fine shot patterns at first, but after slug hunting with it a few seasons, the next time you use it for squirrel or rabbit don't expect to have that same full choke pattern...
This is total BS of the worst sort - a complete OLD WIVE'S TALE!!
Leading might build up if you shoot enough slugs, and leading might mess up patterns, but a thin skirted, hollow-based soft lead slug cannot remove steel from the barrel!! If leading occurs, it is a simple matter to scrub it out with solvent and a bronze bristle bore brush.
