Problem with buddy's Bowtech Justice
My buddy just bought a new Justice a week or two ago and was having problems tuning it. He just could not group with it at all. He asked me to help him get it straightened out for him. He's using a Trophy Taker rest on it and the first thing I noticed upon him shooting a couple arrows through it was major fletch contact. Not just on the prongs of the rest, but on the little arrow holder as well! I took it into my bench and we started going over the initial setup that the bowshop did for him when he bought it. Well, first thing I noticed was the nocking point was set at 1/2" above square. We changed that back to start him off at 1/8" and left him shoot some. Still, same problem. The weird thing I'm noticing is that at full draw, his arrow still looks pointed downward noticeably. I'm kinda lost here. He's shooting cock vane up and still whacking that little arrow holder they give you with the rest.
I have no experience tuning a Bowtech, but can't see where anything would be different. Any thoughts about what direction to go to get him going? His groups got noticeably better once we moved his nock point down, but he isn't going to get anywhere with that clearence issue.
He's shooting 62lbs with a Beman 400 arrow at 28" and 100gr tips so that seems right to me.
Thoughts?
