I'll practice out to 70 yards but at that distance I'm happy just hitting the target. I like to practice at longer distances because it really helps me shoot better inside 40 yards. I find that I'm able to steady the pin better and shoot tighter groups. The bulk of my practice is between 20-35 yards. I'm shooting 1-2" groups inside 20 yards and I'll regularly shoot 3" groups out to 35 yards but outside of that my groups get much larger. Every once in a while I'll suprise myself with a 1-2" group outside 35 yards but it's not frequent enough to consider normal shooting.
