Seriously, thanks !!! Tyler is still on cloud 9 but did make the comment he is missing not being able to hunt anymore this year. I think he is hooked!! He will still go out with me when I hunt though.
We scored the buck tonight. It went 123 1/8 gross. Very even buck and should net around 120. I haven't done the math yet on that.
This isn't the big 8 pt. He is in a different area and will go in the 140s. That area will be better to hunt once some pressure is put on the deer from duck hunters tromping/driving all over or towards rut . He will be a tough one to hunt as he likes to wander and covers a big area. He should get pushed enough to confine his area a bit. The good thing is there are also a couple other bucks just as good or better in that area also. I've got stands in place for that area.
Hoping to get another good weekend of hunting in. Saw a dandy last night and he is in an area with 2 other bucks that are good ones too. No trees in the right spot for a stand so will be hunting at their level. Should be interesting. We put a lot of time into scouting this year. Hopefully our hard work will pay off for me as it did for Tyler.
