They were really made for young hunters just starting out and hunters sensitive to recoil. I like to see this type of project undertaken by the ammo makers. It shows that they are listening to the customer and making reduced loads available for people who do not reload. I as a reloader did the same thing when my kids were just starting to hunt. I loaded the 06 down with bullets intended for use in the 30-30. Some 270's do have a noticable whack to them. For those of us with bad shoulders I welcome the addition.
