but i honestly do not see the point of it, IMO a 270 with 130 grain factory loads really doesnt kick
I can see a point to it. Some people are more sensitive to recoil than others. Reduced recoil loads are just the ticket for younger shooters and many novice shooters.
BTW, I have seen a few rifles chambered in 270 Win that due to stock design, weight, etc. were not at all pleasant to shoot.
