RE: Are hunting scrapes a bet this pre-rut?
I would have to agree with the two previous post. Hunting over scrapes is not the place I would be spending a lot of time. If you can find those areas that they scraped in this year (last year) I would try to hunt it in the pre rut. Often a scrape will get hit for a number of years back to back and even by different bucks. It seems to me that by the time the bucks are scraping your better off hunting travel routes or doe core areas. By the time you find the scrapes those bucks are following those does.
Another thing is that what I've read the majority of scraping is done at night.
I've spent many hours wathcing scrapes and not had a lot of luck.
Your time may be better spent in other places.
