When it comes to the Nosler Ballistic tip, the lighter ones are intended for Varmit hunting. The heavier ones in each caliber above 223 are intended for medium game use. The older Ballistic tips had a habit of comming apart at high velocities. The newer ones when used as intended do a great job. This is from pure expierence as I have used a lot of them in all caliber since they first came out. For deer they just do a great job. For bigger game use the partition. The Partition are available in most calibers factory loaded by Federal and others. PMC loads Barnes X bullets in some of thier loads.
