hey man, my dad has a 742 woodsman, 30-06 bought in 1972 and he loves it, granted he doesnt shoot 500 -3000 rounds a year but hey, he goes to the range, shoots it, carries it in Nov (killed a nice 7pt last year with it) then puts it away until next year, he likes it, its a great looking gun, and Ive never heard him say one word about it jamming, he has always shot 165 gr Rem cor lokts in it. If you can, try to find one of the 742's used, I've heard they are better than 7400's, I myself own a 760 in 30-06 and can tell you it is a better gun than the 7600's. hope this helped!!!!!!!!
