If you squirted WD40 on it, then you really need to have the bow taken apart and have it cleaned/lubed. WD40 is crap in a can. It's good for freeing rusty bolts and removing bumper stickers, but NEVER use it on bows. Or guns, fishin' reels.... anything with precision components.
