RE: toby bridges and savage part ways

You know I don't the man, Toby Bridges, personally so I guess I will reserve comment.
My original thought was to wait and see what the official statement would be. But after reading T7's apraisal of the article and remembering other comments about the Savage breech plug, then stumbling onto a Savage user statement about the breech plug, it did make me wonder.
From what I remember about the looks of the breech plug and how it fits the Savage users explanation could fit. I do not own one and have never shot one so I can not really make any guesses myself. But, if you think about the theory suggested the blow up would be possible and it would start behind the (greatest pressure point)projectile and work back to the breech. As the chamber size increases the pressure drops but the greates pressure will be moving forward right behind the projectile. The breech plu dod not blow back or even up it just stored a few extra grains of un-ignited powder around it's snout and then combined with a fress load - that really put him over the hill...
All just a theory - could it happen - I don't know you would have to ask a Savage shooter.
