When hanging a stand alone I use the eye bolt to my tree stand lock to get my stand up in the tree. First I run my tree steps up the tree to the desired height. I then place the eyebolt and run a 50' piece of small rope and feed it through the eye until both ends touch the ground. I tei one end to the stand, hoist it up and tie it off to a near by tree. I them climb back up and secure the stand with the strap and remove the rope. Then I install the stand lock.
It takes the better part of 45 minutes for me to hang a stand alone.
