Default RE: Mathews Bows

OK, I have to say that I have been very entertained by this string. I'm always intrigued by the way non-Mathews owners feel compelled to rip on Mathews bows every chance they get.

When I bought my Feathermax back in '97 I shot High Country, PSE, Hoyt and Mathews. I thought they were all very good but I seemed to shoot the Mathews the best. It was smooth , silent and fast. I also try to stay loyal to my home state's products when I can.
At that time PSE, Golden Eagle and Hoyt were the most advertised bows in both magazines and hunting videos. So much for the theory that Mathews buyers just buy off of hype and don't try other bows. When I bought my Conquest2 it was because I was impressed by my Feathermax and Mathews was one of the few that made a 32" draw.
Another thing that impressed me was Mathews customer service. I accidently dropped my bow on concrete and roughed up the max cam. Mathews turned around in two days from the time of the mind fart and had a new cam-NO CHARGE !!!

The thing that bothers me the most about the way this string went as well as others is the topic of " All BOWS ARE OVER PRICED". This is only true if you shoot it a couple days before the season and hunt one or two days. I start shooting in July and bow hunt almost every weekend from the Sept. 18th opener until the close in January. I spent over $700 for my Conquest2. I spent over $1500 on a rifle and scope that I use 5 days hunting and 2-3 hours at the range with a year. I guess it is all perspective. Think what people pay to golf a year. $270 a round at that course down the road from me- Whistling Straights. If a guys wants to spend money on a quality bow or rifle or driver I say go for it. I don't whine about how "over priced it is". Base price on how often you have it in your hands.

I have never ripped on another bow manufacturer. Pick what is right for you. Mathews just made it an easier choice for me.
