1 draw your bow back aim at the target , and letdown without fireing the shot , repeet as an exercise.
My shoulder is hurting just thinking about that.
Mine too! It helps though. I don't have the problem as long as I know I'm not dropping the hammer.

2 use a bigger spot , it works
3 "blank bales " is another exercise that has helped many , do a search on the subject
I'll give it a shot in the spring. I know I don't have the time to cure it before season. And since it isn't a problem on game it can wait a winter....or at least wait until winter.
There are a bunch of different kinds of target panic. Your particular affliction is called 'freezing'. Maybe that will help you do a detailed search.
