Default RE: Black Diamond kit vs XR

I would personally get the Bass Pro $200 rifle. The XR has a 26" barrel and is a very well balanced rifle. For the $50.00 savings you are loosing the longer barrel, and trading it for some stuff that will be shot off the first time out or eventually replaced by better quality items.

Buy

a clear powder measure
a pound of loose Triple Se7en FFg
a T/C dog bone capper
a CVA capper/decapper (a cheap plastic one comes with the rifle)
CVA Slick Breech Plug and Nipple Grease
some quality gun oil like Birchwood Casey Sheath
a bore brush
a .50 caliber cleaning jag
a T/C T handle short starter
a box of Buffalo Bullet SSB 375 grain sabots
a box of T/C 240 grain cheap shots
a box of 209 primers I use Winchester W209

most of the other stuff you will need are around the house already.

rubbing or denatured alcohol and windshied washer fluid make an excellent bore swab solution.

1/3rd murphys oil soap, 1/3rd 91% isopropyl alcohol & 1/3rd hydrgen peroxide (a.k.a. MAP) makes a real good cleaning solvent.

Old white socks makes excellent cleaning patches. So do white cotton T-shirts.

A lot of this stuff takes time to learn and gather up. In the long run you will always have the XR instead of the shorter version.....

just my opinion.
