The National Forests will be crowded if you only hunt near the access roads. However, if you are willing to hike a little ways you can hunt some land(the 2 forests have over 1.5 million acres) that will have very little hunting pressure. I believe Virginia Game & Fish magazine did an article recently on some places of intrest in Virginias Nat'l Forests. The key is you must be willng to walk.
