Default RE: maintaining shotgun in salt/brackish water

ORIGINAL: stink belly

We have been hunting the coast for about 4 years and it seems no matter what we do, the salt gets to the metal. Make sure not to hold on to the metal for long periods of time. I grip my barrel while sitting in the blind and I now have a rusty hand print there. About 3 years ago, I found gunkote. It is an epoxy paint that you, your gunsmith or gunkote gunsmiths can put on the gun that will withstand hard use in salt water for about 2 seasons. I did it myself for under $50. It is worth it.
ive herd about that stuff and its supposed to work pretty good I just keep my gun very heavily oiled inside and out and its worked fine so far
