That was with smokless ,I had another savage when they first came out ,and tried cleanshot and pyro in it and it would drive tacks @100 yds,sold it to my brother and last year he was putting them in the same hole at 50 yds,getting ready for the muzzleloader season(only time he picks up a gun is week before the season).He took 3 deer with it last year.
I didn't get to try my savage last year because I didn't see one when I was carring it,but did take a large 8 pointer using the 195 barnes and a doe with the 200 sst with my encore.The barnes I won't use again because it didn't open up but the sst shot the doe @45 yds behind the shoulder complete pass through and splattered blood on the trees 10 ft behind the deer.
Hope the sst shoot good for you I use them in several of my reg rifles.
