Just got a scout mount for my 94. Love the concept and the way the gun feels with it on. My question is about the instructions for installation of this AimPoint product. It tells me I have to epoxy the mount to the barrel along with using the mounting screws. What the heck?!!!!
The problem seems to be the clearance betweent he mount and the barrel. The barrel is quite a step down from the top of the receiver where the back of the mount secures to the front holes an the angle eject .
I'm thinking about using some good epoxy putty and leaving oil or wax on the barrel but not on the mount itself so as not to make the mount intallation totally permanent.'
Any more ideas?
