Default pa, not many

Although last season we knew that deer sightings were Waaaay down, I am still surprised how few deer are being seen this summer. (I thought there would be a few less). They made it sound as though the extra doe harvested had no effect, even saying the deer herd went from 1.3 million to 1.6? But they must be bending numbers again. I took a trip west to a friends camp and he said his sightings are off by at least half, a drive north 100 miles on rt81 and we did not see a dead deer anywhere. I asked while up north if they were seeing many and they said it was about normal, they said that when we left the park and went home we would pass an old strip mine and we would probably see 10 deer - well we went by and stopped and got the spot light out and there were no deer. The guy said "now that you mention it, we have not been seeing many..."

On the farm we hunt the owners trailcam has not gone through its first roll of film yet after 6 weeks in 3 baited locations?

And all the sportswriters in PA along with Gary Alt seem to be quiet as church mice. Gary was supposed to do anther tour of the country side to give his patented roadside show, but he did not do the tour. Granted over the summer the writers switch to fishing, but in August they usually grease the skids on the upcoming bow season, yet they have been gravely quiet?

Seems to me that many parts of PA are going to be in for a quiet bow and rifle season again this year despite all the sermons on "better hunting" due to herd reductions.
