RE: Patterned the 10ga today!
10 pt - - Every time I hear from you 10 gauge guys it gets me more to thinking about going with the Big 10 also. Ever try the Nitro Ammo 3 oz loads for the 10 gauge? (Then again, how dead do you need the bird to be?) - - Good Hunting!, - - Pointshoot

Went to the range today and shot my browning gold 10ga, and I was very happy with the results. I knew that #5's shot best out of it but I did not know whether to shoot the 2oz or the 2-1/4oz. I was using a truglo choke and winchester shells. I shot once at 30 yards and they both shot about the same, siving the paper. The turkey target was coverered in shot. Then I went out to 40 yards and was very happy with what I saw. Using winchester #5's 2oz of shot I put 18 in the vitals and 44 total in his head and neck counting the vital shots. The 2-1/4oz put 10 in the vitals and a total of 38 in his head and neck at 40 yards. So I think I will go with the 2oz load. They are faster and they patterned just a tad better. Also on the 2oz of shot I put 249 shots on the paper and the 2-1/4oz shot put 220. So I believe I will go with the 2oz load of #5's.
