Remington 700 -vs- Sako 75
I'm looking for a new (non-competition) target rifle. I'd like something very accurate in the 100 - 300 yd range, suitable for shooting all day, and built to last. Only catch is that I'd like to keep the weight down... I have a bad back, and although a lot of my shooting will probably be from a bench rest, I'd like to keep my option open.
I was drawn to the Sako 75 (probably in a .223, but .22-250 is not out of the question) for all the custom tweaks out of the box, but I just looked at a Remington Light Varmint w/ a stainless/fluted barrel. It's even lighter than the Sako, and I expect the accuracy would be excellent.
Any opinions about either?
Thanks,
- Aaron
