Good one! I would probabaly avoid an invitation to dinner at your house though.

When I was a kid I was told by an old woodsmen that I was proud to call my best friend for many years(he's been dead 10 years now) Son, just poke em in the eye with yar gun barrel and iffn they blink, pull that thar trigger again. He never heard of Jackie Bushman, Bill Jordan or any of those others.
I had a deer that I didn't do that to cause I'd shot it in the side of the head with a 30-30 at about 35 yards. It dropped like a stone, I unloaded, got out my knife, opened it and the deer got up. I grabbed an ear (it was a doe) and stuck it in the neck with the knife (I was pretty young and even dumber than I am now) It seems the shot hit about an inch or so under the eye and although the deer dropped, it wasn't immmediately dead. I don't think now that the knife killed it. Standing up was probably the deers last hurrah but I've approached em all with caution ever since!
