I personally have a 6pt rule that I follow, I hunt a lot of public land so I pass up a lot of small bucks. One day last year during the first week of November I passed up 7 bucks in a morning, all spikes and fork horns, the 8th buck was a 7pt and he came home with me. If I would have shot the first one I saw, I would have missed a lot of action and excitment.
