Until you get comfortable, set your pins for very basic yardages........
10-20-30 yards. You are probably not ready to shoot at anything live at any real distance so keep the 30 yard stuff just for practice.
The top pin will be your closest yardage.....10 yards.
Sight in your top pin by positioning it where you like in the sight first, then use the "gang" adjustments to zero it in. Once the 10 yard pin is set, lock down the gang adjustments because you will be (hopefully

)moving only the pin for the 20-30 yard settings.
When you shoot an arrow, you will always adjust your pins in the direction that you missed the bullseye. If you shot high and left you will move your sight up and left. "Follow your arrow".
It will help to know that the rest of your set-up is adjusted correctly, and a string peep sight will be a big help. You might want to have a pro shop check the bow over and make sure everything else is tuned properly so that you can get the most from your sights.
