I've hunted with a Browning BPS with 3 inch chamber, 28 inch barrel with screw-in chokes for 22 years and haven't noticed the need for 3.5 inch shells. I use mostly 2.75 inch shells with bismuth or tungsten shot with 3 inchers reserved for high pass shooting.
Bottom ejection is a plus, making it easy to gather up empties for reloads and being a lefty, I don't have to worry about empties flying across my field of view.
Others have posted good advice, consider it in relation to the hunting you plan to do and if possible, go to your nearest gun range and check out the different shotties available. Ask your friends if you can try their shotties at the range before you make your decision.
