Plus I go on guided hunts every year dont be critical of me chuck or anyone else because of it. If you can afford a guided hunt it makes a lot sense because you are that much less likely to spend all that money traveling and then you might get there and hunting could suck. Many times even more so with big animals out west ( not deer) you buy a hunt through an outfitter just so that you can hunt his land that doesnt mean that he has an animal "tied up" - now there are a few hunts that you dont need a guide for caribou for example that is an easy do it yourself hunt. however for elk for the most part it helps tremedously to have a guide for example With out a guide you dont know the woods you dont know what type of bulls you are looking for ect. now with a guide you have someone to help you through the woods they can give you an idea on how big of a bull to hold out for. Now you tell me that you will have more fun and be more sucsessful at seeing big bulls consistantly by your self on an out of state hunt than using a guide. plus i bet if you went on a guided hunt and you saw bulls like the one below consistantly then i would love to see you still trash talk guided hunts
