I definitely recommend the synthetic for waterfowling. Wood just can't handle the wet and bumps, scrapes and gouges. Also a 28 " barrel gives a little better sighting plane for most waterfowling. These opinions have been formed after over 60 years of waterfowling. good luck on whatever you decide.
