I'll shoot arrows at targets no matter how far off they are. I've done some pretty good shooting at over 150 yards with a longbow. "Pretty good" meaning getting several hits on a standing bear target dressed up like a Middle Ages Frenchman.

For hunting, I figure I haven't earned the right to even draw my bow until I've gotten well within 30 yards.
