I was in illinois 3 years ago , west central illinois, adams county to be exact. Put it this way lots of deer, lots of big deer. Never been to iowa but I hear it's the place to be if your can get in. As for my hunts, one was semi-guided with an outfitter whom I will not mention because he drank everyones beer and was drunk all of the time, he was so drunk he couldn't help me track a deer that I had shot. Well I going again this year but fully guided. My outfitter is HUNTING UNLIMITED INC. COM . For the money , you cannot beat what Larry has to offer. Wishing you the best
