My cousin has a Ruger Varmit rifle chambered in .220 Swift that is incredibly accurate. It has a 26 inch heavy barrel and a highly ajustable target scope. He hand loads 55 grain ballistic tips and it cuts bullet holes at 200 plus yards. It weighs like 10 pounds with the scope and shells in and has virtually no recoil at all. Someone mentioned the 25.06 that is also a good choice since it is unbelievablely flat shooting. Has anyone done much shooting with the new .204 Ruger? it seems like it might fit your needs too.
