I've hunted those islands quite a bit, includeing Afognack. I shot a nice little buck there one time, and hung it in a tree not far from the plane. Me and my partner took the seats out of the 180 on floats and laid sleeping bags down on the floor, we then flooded the floats, and crawled in the plane for the night. In the morning my buck was gone and there was huge bear tracks around the tree.
He must have been a big bear, as the deer never dragged on the ground as he left with it. I never did see the bear, but i did track him for some time before my friend got very nervous and decided we should go find another buck instead. hahahaha
Raspberry island has the elk, but can be hard hunting. I always liked to hunt Kodiak, Afognack, and montique the best.
The picture is of a nice buck i took on Kodiak Island.
