Personal preference. Performance will not be an issue. Both calibers are "has beens" in my opinion. With short-mag options that we have today, my 7mm rem mag will be old and grey before too long. I know people who shoot both ( 308 and 3006 ) and I would give the edge to the best shooter, not much difference in guns.
