I've met quite a few gun hunters that are older gentlemen that wont shoot does , it's just part of their generation and the way they did things when they started hunting.
My dad is 55 and is part of the generation who believes in that fact that it's better to shoot a buck(spike, fork or basket 6 included) over a doe. Because he thinks it's better for the herd. I've given him multiple articles for him to read, I've tried to explain it over a 12 pack and he still doesn't want to believe it.
Just can't convince him. Oh well. He only deer hunts 3-4 days out of the year and doesn't take it that seriously, so he can't do too much damage. lol
The guys that really confuse me are the ones that are much more happy to shoot a small buck over a doe. It's almost like with them, if you don't shoot a buck...it's not worth shooting. An ego builder. Or maybe they feel more like a man.
