$400 will get you a Savage 12FV or 10FP. Either one of these will get the job done. There's a couple of things you will have to do to get the Savages to shoot. One is the trigger, the worst factory trigger bar none. Second, the tupperware stock so-called pillar bedding. A little bedding here will work wonders. Third, the bores are usually rough it takes a while to break them in. A little extra work and you have a .3 moa factory rifle. Not bad for a $400 rifle.
