150 grain bullets or heavier from a 270 shoot no flatter then a 150 grain .308 and a 150 grain 30-06 shoots flatter , to really get flat shooting performance from a 270 you need to stick with 130 grain bullets or lighter. If I was wanting to get flat shooting performance from a .270 I would shoot a bullet with the highest ballistic coefficient like a 130 grain nosler ballistic tip boat tail. with that you would be getting close to 243 ballistics. to get the best non magnum flat shooting capabilities for big game calibers I'd step up to a .280 with a 140 grain nosler ballistic tip boat tail it gets near 22-250 ballistics. But anyway forget flat shooting, just learn how to shoot your Freakin gun. Reminds me of time a friend of mine made a bet with me becasue he thought he would shoot better then me because his 243 shot flatter then my 308 so we set up milk jugs full of water from ranges from 100 to 300 yards needless to say he lost the bet at 200 yards but he was like thats not fair your gun is zeroed for 200 yards so I said ok lets see you hit a jug at 300 yards with your 243 just like at 200 yards 5 shots and and didnt hit a jug at all then I shot 3 rounds and hit 3 jugs in a row. then he was like oh, I said see now wheres my 50 bucks. The moral of the story is who cares how flat your gun shoots you have to be accurate to begin with in other words learn to shoot your damn gun
